Markus Haaland
Markus Haaland is a Norwegian midfielder who developed in Bergen before progressing through Brann’s system. He played youth football with Sædalen until 2018, then joined the SK Brann academy in 2019. From 2021 to 2024, Haaland featured for Brann II, making 67 appearances and scoring nine goals. He moved into Brann’s senior squad in 2024 after advancing through the club’s ranks. His pathway included involvement during Brann’s successful 2022 OBOS-ligaen campaign and the club’s 2022/23 Norwegian Cup-winning season. Haaland later represented Norway U20 at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, appearing in all five matches as Norway reached the quarter-finals. Primarily a midfielder, Markus Haaland has also been used in advanced wide and attacking roles, gaining European experience with Brann by early 2026.
