Matthew Grech
Matthew Grech is a Maltese goalkeeper who developed in the Pietà Hotspurs youth academy before beginning a career across the domestic game. He gained important senior experience with Floriana, where he was part of squads that won the FA Trophy and Super Cup. Grech later represented Senglea Athletic, San Ġwann and Żebbuġ Rangers while seeking regular first-team football. During the 2022/23 season, he played 15 matches for Sirens, adding Premier League experience with a club outside Malta’s leading group. His career also included a spell with Żabbar St. Patrick before he joined Birkirkara in January 2025. Matthew Grech is currently listed with Birkirkara, continuing his career in Malta’s top domestic game. His consistency led to a senior Malta debut against Ukraine on 19 June 2023, marking his progression into international football.
