Morten Wetche Frendrup

Morten Wetche Frendrup is a Danish midfielder born in Holbæk. He developed with Tuse IF and Holbæk B&I before joining Brøndby’s academy at age 12. Frendrup became Brøndby’s youngest debutant in February 2018, appearing at 16 years and 310 days. He grew into an important member of the side that won the 2020–21 Danish Superliga title, the club’s first in 16 years. In January 2022, Frendrup moved to Genoa, where he contributed to the team’s return to Serie A after relegation. Primarily a defensive or central midfielder, he is valued for anticipation, interceptions, tackling and covering space, while also filling wider defensive roles when required. He made his senior Denmark debut against Serbia in September 2024, after representing the country at youth level. At Genoa, Morten Frendrup has continued developing as a disciplined ball-winner and energetic presence in midfield.
