Michael Ijemuan Folorunsho

Michael Ijemuan Folorunsho is an Italian midfielder born in Rome on 7 February 1998. He developed in the Roman football system before joining Lazio’s youth ranks in 2014, but left without making a competitive senior appearance. Folorunsho began his professional career with Virtus Francavilla in Serie C, where his physical presence helped him attract Napoli’s attention. Napoli signed him in 2019, then sent him on loan to Reggina, Pordenone and Bari as he continued climbing through Italy’s divisions. At Bari, he became a prominent midfielder and scored eight goals in the 2022–23 campaign, narrowly missing promotion after the playoff final. He moved to Verona for 2023–24, establishing himself in Serie A with five goals in 34 appearances. His performances earned an Italy call-up in 2024, followed by his debut and selection for Euro 2024, while Folorunsho’s ball carrying and runs add attacking thrust to midfield.
