Mamadou Fofana

Mamadou Fofana is a Malian midfielder born in Bamako on 21 January 1998. He developed in Mali before moving to France, joining Metz in 2018. Fofana helped Metz win the Ligue 2 title in 2018–19 and later played in Ligue 1. In 2021, he transferred to Amiens, where his defensive work and composure made him an important part of the side. His game combines physical coverage with accurate distribution, allowing him to protect the back line and help launch attacks. Fofana also represented Mali at the 2015 FIFA Under-17 World Cup, starting every match as the team reached the final. He subsequently became involved with the senior national team and continued his career in North America with the New England Revolution.
