Mouctar Diakhaby
Mouctar Diakhaby is a right-footed centre-back born in Vendôme, France, on 19 December 1996. He developed through USSA Vertou and FC Nantes before joining Olympique Lyonnais’s academy in 2013. Diakhaby made his professional debut for Lyon in September 2016 and scored his first competitive goal against Nantes later that year, while also contributing in the Europa League. In June 2018, he moved to Valencia, where his 1.89-metre frame has supported an assertive style built on aerial duels, interceptions and defensive work. He was part of Valencia’s squad that won the 2018–19 Copa del Rey and has also taken occasional leadership responsibilities. After suffering a dislocated right knee against Real Madrid in March 2024, Diakhaby returned to competitive football against Barcelona in January 2025. Internationally, he represented France at youth level before choosing Guinea in 2022, making his senior debut against Egypt and featuring at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
