Mees Jacobus Wilhelmus de Wit

Mees Jacobus Wilhelmus de Wit is a Dutch left-back from Amsterdam, born on 17 April 1998. He began at FC Weesp before joining the Ajax academy in 2007, developing initially as a winger or attack-minded midfielder. After progressing through Ajax’s youth ranks and appearing for Jong Ajax in 2017–18, he moved to Sporting CP in 2018 to join its under-23 setup. A loan at Orihuela CF followed, and De Wit returned to the Netherlands in 2021 with PEC Zwolle. At Zwolle, he increasingly operated as a wing-back, contributing at both ends of the pitch despite the club’s relegation, and his performances earned a transfer to AZ Alkmaar in 2022. At AZ, De Wit has continued as a left-back while also offering versatility across the defensive line and, when required, in midfield.
