Mauricio Aimar Cuevas

Mauricio Aimar Cuevas is an American football defender born in Los Angeles on February 10, 2003. He developed in the LA Galaxy system and signed a professional contract with LA Galaxy II in April 2019 at age 16. Cuevas also represented United States youth teams, featuring in the under-17 and under-20 setups. He helped the United States win the 2022 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship, although an injury ruled him out of the 2023 FIFA Under-20 World Cup. After leaving LA Galaxy following the 2021 season, he joined Club Brugge and played primarily for its development side, Club NXT. LA Galaxy announced his return in April 2023, and he was part of the squad that won MLS Cup 2024. Listed at 1.70 metres, Cuevas is primarily a full-back whose game includes quick recovery movement, crossing and the ability to operate on either flank; he is now registered with Santos Laguna.
