Matteo Cancellieri

Matteo Cancellieri is an Italian forward who developed in the Roma youth academy after beginning with Polisportiva De Rossi. In 2020, he moved to Hellas Verona as part of the deal involving Marash Kumbulla, beginning his senior progression away from the capital. Cancellieri made his professional debut for Verona in the 2021 Coppa Italia and earned attention for his pace and dribbling from wide positions. Lazio signed him in July 2022, but limited opportunities led to loan spells with Empoli and Parma. At Empoli in 2023–24, he made 36 appearances and scored four goals, including one against Roma on the final matchday, while also supplying an assist. He then scored three times in 27 appearances for Parma in 2024–25. Returning to Lazio, Matteo Cancellieri has been used across the front line, offering direct running, inside movement and defensive work.
