Moisés Isaac Caicedo Corozo

Moisés Isaac Caicedo Corozo is an Ecuadorian defensive midfielder born in Santo Domingo on 2 November 2001. He developed at CD Espoli and Independiente del Valle, making his senior debut for the latter before helping the club win the 2020 U-20 Copa Libertadores. In 2021, Caicedo moved to Brighton & Hove Albion and spent an adaptation period on loan at Belgian side Beerschot Wilrijk. After returning to England, he established himself in Brighton's midfield and scored his first Premier League goal against Manchester United in May 2022. Chelsea signed Caicedo in August 2023, adding him to their midfield as a ball-winning presence who can protect the defence and progress possession. He has since remained part of Chelsea's senior setup, while also developing into an important Ecuador international. For club and country, Caicedo combines defensive coverage, pressing and forward passing with the positional discipline expected of a holding midfielder.
