Michael Brouwer

Michael Brouwer is a Dutch goalkeeper born in Apeldoorn on 21 January 1993. He developed at AGOVV, Vitesse and FC Twente, and represented the Netherlands Under-16s once in 2009. Brouwer joined Heracles Almelo in January 2013, beginning a long spell as a reserve before making his senior debut in a KNVB Cup match against Den Bosch in September 2018. He then moved to FC Emmen on loan for the 2021–22 season, playing 38 league matches as the club won promotion and the Eerste Divisie title. Back at Heracles in 2022, he helped the side return to the Eredivisie and was named Eerste Divisie Goalkeeper of the Season for 2022–23. In 2023–24, Brouwer played all 34 Eredivisie matches for Heracles, recording 3,060 minutes. He joined Utrecht in July 2024, continuing a career shaped by persistence and increasingly regular top-flight responsibility.
