Mickaël Jose Barreto

Mickaël Jose Barreto is a French midfielder born in Paris on 18 January 1991. He developed at US Torcy before joining ESTAC Troyes’s youth system in 2007, spending seven years progressing through its academy and reserve side. Barreto moved into senior football with Avranches and Fréjus Saint-Raphaël before joining Orléans in 2015, where he established himself in France’s professional game. In June 2017, he signed for Auxerre, operating as an attacking midfielder or wide player and building a reputation for technical passing and chance creation. He joined Ajaccio in 2020 and helped the club earn promotion to Ligue 1 for the 2022–23 season, later scoring against Strasbourg in April 2023. Across his career, Barreto has also been associated with set-piece delivery and central midfield roles. He is now registered with Dijon, adding experience from spells with Troyes, Orléans, Auxerre and Ajaccio.
