Mateo Barać

Mateo Barać is a Croatian defender from Sinj. He developed at Junak Sinj before joining Hajduk Split, where he won the national under-19 championship, then returned to Junak after not receiving a senior contract. A planned move to FC Wohlen in 2014 fell through, and he later had a brief spell with Hrvatski Dragovoljac. Barać established himself with Šibenik in 2015–16, earning a transfer to NK Osijek in July 2016. His performances there led to Croatia involvement at the 2017 China Cup, including a debut against Chile. In 2018, he joined Rapid Vienna and continued his career in European competition. He later played for FC Sochi, Krylia Sovetov, KV Oostende and FK Aktobe before returning to Croatia with NK Varazdin, while Mateo Barać’s 190-centimetre frame adds a tall defensive presence.
