Miguel Ángel Almirón Rejala

Miguel Ángel Almirón Rejala is a Paraguay international right winger known for cutting inside onto his left foot. Born in Asunción, he developed at Cerro Porteño and made his senior debut there in 2013. He won Paraguayan league titles with Cerro Porteño in 2013 and 2015 before moving to Lanús in Argentina in 2015. At Lanús, Almirón helped win the 2016 Primera División, including a standout performance in the final against San Lorenzo. He joined Atlanta United in 2017 and became a central figure in the club’s attack, forming a productive partnership with Josef Martínez and winning the 2018 MLS Cup. Newcastle United signed Almirón in 2019, where his pressing, running and movement complemented his creative play. He returned to Atlanta United in January 2025, continuing a career built across Paraguay, Argentina, the United States and England.
