Michel Aebischer

Michel Aebischer is a Swiss midfielder born in Fribourg on 6 January 1997. He began at FC Heitenried before joining BSC Young Boys, progressing through the club’s youth teams. Aebischer made his Swiss Super League debut for Young Boys in September 2016 and became part of a successful side in Bern. He helped the club win four consecutive league titles from 2017–18 through 2020–21, including the campaign that ended Young Boys’ 32-year wait for the championship. In 2022, he moved to Bologna, initially joining the Serie A club on loan before the transfer became permanent. At Bologna, Aebischer developed into a versatile midfielder who could contribute centrally or from a wider position, while using measured passing and defensive reading to support transitions. He has represented Switzerland and was involved at UEFA Euro 2024, before joining Pisa on loan in 2025.
