Luíz Lúcio Reis Júnior

Luíz Júnior, whose full name is Luíz Lúcio Reis Júnior, is a Brazilian goalkeeper born in Picos on 14 January 2001. He began his development with Clube Atlético Diadema, progressing through the under-17 ranks before making his senior debut in April 2017. In 2019, he moved to Mirassol, then continued his development in Portugal after joining Famalicão at the age of 18. Initially used for Famalicão’s under-19 and under-23 teams, Luíz Júnior made his professional debut against Paços de Ferreira in November 2020. He established himself with the first team, making 140 appearances for the Portuguese club before moving to Villarreal on 20 August 2024. At Villarreal, he has been involved in La Liga and Champions League football, including matches against Manchester City, Ajax and Borussia Dortmund. Standing 1.94 metres, Luíz Júnior is noted for his reflex saves and ability to stop long-range efforts, while his profile also includes sweeping actions and responsibility in build-up play.
