Luis Jesús Rioja González

Luis Jesús Rioja González, known as Luis Rioja, is a Spanish left winger who operates primarily on the flank and favours his left foot. He developed through Spain’s lower leagues before making his professional Segunda División debut with Almería in 2018. At Almería, Rioja established himself as a regular wide player, using pace and crossing to provide an attacking outlet. He moved to Alavés in 2019 and spent five seasons there, becoming an important figure and later captain. Rioja helped Alavés win promotion back to LaLiga in 2023, while also adapting to defensive responsibilities within the team. In 2024, he joined Valencia, where he has been used on the left and, at times, on the right to cut inside onto his stronger foot. Luis Rioja’s career reflects a gradual rise from lower-level football to an established top-flight role.
