Luca Stephenson

Luca Stephenson is an English midfielder who developed in Sunderland’s Academy of Light before joining Liverpool at under-15 level in September 2018. At Liverpool, he captained the under-18s in 2020–21 and later led the under-21s, while also featuring at centre-back and right-back. Stephenson moved into senior football with Barrow on loan in 2023–24, making 34 appearances and operating mainly as a right wing-back. He subsequently joined Dundee United on loan and made an immediate impact in the Scottish Premiership by scoring the winner against St Johnstone on his debut. During the 2024–25 campaign, he helped Dundee United secure a top-four finish and European qualification, and received the club’s Young Player of the Season award. His versatility has since extended across midfield, defensive midfield and the right side of defence. Stephenson has also taken on leadership responsibilities, captaining Dundee United in March 2026.
