Leonardo Adelino da Silva Lopes

Leonardo Lopes (Leonardo Adelino da Silva Lopes) is a Portuguese central midfielder born in Lisbon on 30 November 1998. He developed with Santa Iria and Atlético Povoense before continuing his youth football in England with Powerleague Colts. Peterborough United signed him as a teenager, and he made his senior debut in 2015. At Peterborough, he progressed into regular first-team football before joining Wigan Athletic in 2018. After a brief spell at Wigan, he spent time on loan at Gillingham and then played for Hull City under Grant McCann. Lopes moved to Cercle Brugge in 2020, establishing himself as a dependable midfielder in Belgium’s top flight. He later joined Gent, where he continues to operate in central or deeper midfield roles, using intensity, interceptions and passing to support his team.
