Luka Zahović
Luka Zahović is a Slovenian forward born in Guimarães, Portugal, in 1995. He developed in Portugal with Valencia and Benfica before moving to Maribor in 2007. Zahović made his senior breakthrough for Maribor during the 2014–15 season and scored a late equaliser against Sporting CP on his Champions League debut. In 2015, he joined Heerenveen and later returned to Maribor on loan. Back in Slovenia, Luka Zahović became the league’s leading scorer in 2017–18 with 18 goals and helped Maribor win five league titles. He moved to Pogon Szczecin in 2020, where his role developed from penalty-box finisher into a more involved link player. Zahović has represented Slovenia after progressing through the country’s youth setup, adding international experience to a career spanning Portugal, Slovenia and Poland.
