Lukas Watkowiak
Lukas Watkowiak is a German goalkeeper born in Frankfurt on 6 March 1996. Standing 1.97 metres tall, he began his development at FSV Frankfurt before joining FSV Mainz 05, where he continued through 2015. Watkowiak moved into senior football with Mainz 05 II, making 17 appearances in the 3. Liga during the 2016–17 season. In 2017, he joined SV Wehen Wiesbaden and contributed to the club’s 2018–19 Hessen Cup triumph, while also making 11 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga in 2019–20. He moved to FC St. Gallen in August 2020 and added Swiss football to his experience, including five Swiss Cup appearances in 2021–22. At St. Gallen, Watkowiak has provided goalkeeping depth and used his imposing frame to offer a strong presence in the penalty area. The club extended his contract to 30 June 2027 in February 2025, keeping Lukas Watkowiak in its plans.
