Luca Unbehaun

Luca Unbehaun is a German goalkeeper born in Bochum on 27 February 2001. He began at SC Union-Bergen before spending seven years with VfL Bochum from 2009 to 2016, then joined Borussia Dortmund’s academy. With Dortmund, Unbehaun won the Under-19 Bundesliga in 2016/17 and 2018/19 and was named to The Guardian’s Next Generation 2018 list. He also represented Germany at under-16, under-17, under-18, under-20 and under-21 level. Promoted to Dortmund’s senior squad in 2019, he reached Champions League and DFB-Pokal matchday squads but made no competitive first-team appearance. He instead played 59 times for Dortmund II between 2020 and 2023, helping the side win the Regionalliga West title in 2021, before joining SC Verl in 2023 and making 33 appearances in 2023/24. Unbehaun is currently listed with Hansa Rostock.
