Lukas Ullrich

Lukas Ullrich is a German defender who operates primarily at left-back for Borussia Mönchengladbach. Born on 16 March 2004, he developed in Berlin with Weißenseer FC and Borussia Friedrichsfelde before joining Hertha BSC’s academy in 2015. Ullrich progressed through Hertha’s youth system, captaining the Under-19 side, and later represented Hertha BSC II in the Regionalliga. In 2023, he moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach on a free transfer, initially combining reserve-team football with four Bundesliga appearances in his first season. He established himself more firmly in the Bundesliga during 2024–25, recording 26 appearances and one goal. Ullrich won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month award for February 2025, reflecting his growing influence from the left flank. He is also involved with Germany’s Under-20 and Under-21 teams.
