Lesley Chimuanya Ugochukwu

Lesley Chimuanya Ugochukwu is a French defensive midfielder born in Rennes on 26 March 2004. He developed in local football before joining the Stade Rennais academy, where he progressed through the youth system and made his senior debut in 2021. Ugochukwu established himself in Rennes’ midfield before moving to Chelsea in August 2023. At Chelsea, he continued his development in the Premier League, using his 1.90-metre frame and right foot to screen the defence and compete for possession. He spent the 2024–25 season on loan at Southampton, gaining regular top-flight experience during the club’s relegation campaign. Ugochukwu is also listed among France’s under-21 players, reflecting his involvement in the national youth setup. He is currently listed with Galatasaray, while Rennes, Chelsea and Southampton mark the principal clubs in his documented progression.
