Lamine Sy

Lamine Sy is a French right-back born in Les Mureaux on 10 August 2002. He began at Olympique de Les Mureaux before joining the Stade Malherbe de Caen academy in 2014, initially as a midfielder. Under Fabrice Vandeputte, Sy was converted to right-back, using his speed and recovery ability in the new role. He made his professional debut for Caen on 5 February 2022 in a 1-1 draw with Nancy. After cruciate ligament injuries interrupted his progress between 2022 and 2024, he joined FC Rouen 1899 on loan for the 2023-24 season. At Rouen, Lamine Sy made 31 appearances and scored three goals. He moved to Auxerre in July 2025 on a free transfer. At Auxerre, he continues as a right-back, with a midfield background supporting his ability to invert into central areas and contribute to build-up play.
