Luka Škaričić

Luka Škaričić is a Croatian defender who plays for NK Varaždin, primarily as a centre-back with the ability to cover at right-back. He developed in the HNK Hajduk Split academy, progressing through the club’s youth teams before gaining senior experience with Hajduk Split II. His development also brought involvement with Croatia’s under-21 side. Škaričić moved to Varaždin on loan during the early 2020s, receiving top-flight opportunities and appearing 11 times in the 2021/22 season. In July 2023, he joined the club permanently, continuing his progression in the Croatian Football League. At Varaždin, Škaričić combines a strong aerial presence with passing intended to start attacks and the positioning needed to protect the defensive line. Luka Škaričić has consequently developed from a Hajduk prospect into an established Varaždin defender.
