Lazaros Rota

Lazaros Rota is a Greek right-back born on 23 August 1997 in Katerini. He developed at the Iraklis FC academy before beginning his senior career with FC Slavoj Trebišov in Slovakia in January 2018. Rota then moved to top-flight MFK Zemplín Michalovce, continuing his progression as a full-back who combined defensive work with attacking contribution. In January 2020, he joined Dutch club Fortuna Sittard and made 33 appearances before leaving in late 2021. He returned to Greece by signing for AEK Athens in September 2021 and became part of the club’s defensive options at right-back. Rota helped AEK win the Greek Super League and Greek Cup double in 2022–23. He remains registered with AEK Athens, continuing his career at the club where his development reached its highest level.
