Lars Ritzka
Lars Ritzka is a German defender born in Hannover on 7 May 1998. He developed in the Hannover 96 academy from 2010 to 2017 and was part of the club’s DFB Junioren Pokal-winning side in 2015/16. From 2017 to 2019, Ritzka played for Hannover 96 II in the Regionalliga North before moving to Verl on a free transfer in 2019. At Verl, he established himself in the 3. Liga, including the 2020/21 campaign in which he recorded two goals and four assists in 35 appearances. FC St. Pauli signed him in 2021, beginning a new stage of his senior career. Primarily a left-back, Lars Ritzka has also operated in a more inward role to support midfield build-up. In 2023/24, he helped St. Pauli win the 2. Bundesliga title and gain promotion to the Bundesliga, where he remains part of the club’s squad.
