Lillian Rao-Lisoa

Lillian Rao-Lisoa is a French defender born in Angers on 16 June 2000. He began playing football in the Toulouse area, joining A.A. Grisolles before spending two years with Toulouse FC from 2011 to 2013. Rao-Lisoa then developed with Balma SC, Blagnac FC and AS Muret, returning to his birthplace in 2017 to join Angers’ youth academy. He spent the following years with Angers II, making 54 reserve-team appearances between 2018 and 2023. On 15 January 2023, he made his Ligue 1 debut for Angers against Clermont. Primarily a right-back, Rao-Lisoa has also been described as capable of operating farther forward on the right, and his long route through regional and reserve football preceded his emergence in Angers’ first team.
