Luca Ranieri

Luca Ranieri is an Italian defender, born in La Spezia on 23 April 1999, who developed in Fiorentina’s academy after beginning at Canaletto Sepor. He reached the senior pathway in 2017–18 before leaving Florence to gain experience on loan. Ranieri made his professional debut with Foggia in Serie B during 2018–19, then continued his development with Ascoli and SPAL. At Salernitana in 2021–22, he played in Serie A and scored his first top-flight goal. Returning to Fiorentina in 2022, Ranieri became increasingly involved in the club’s European campaign and started the 2023 UEFA Europa Conference League final. His role has since evolved from an earlier wide defensive position into central defence, where he contributes to build-up play and defensive duels. Ranieri also received senior Italy recognition, making his debut in a 2–0 victory over Moldova in June 2025.
