Luca Philipp

Luca Philipp is a German goalkeeper who was born on 28 November 2000 and stands 1.92 metres tall. He began his development with TSV Eltingen and SGV Freiberg before joining the 1899 Hoffenheim academy in July 2013. At Hoffenheim, Philipp progressed through each age group from under-13 level to the senior squad and featured in the Under-19 Bundesliga. After earning a professional contract in the 2020–21 season, he became a third-choice goalkeeper for the Bundesliga team. From 2018 to 2024, he built match experience with Hoffenheim’s reserve side, making 54 appearances in the Regionalliga Südwest. His senior breakthrough came in 2024–25, when he made his DFB-Pokal debut and then his Bundesliga debut against Eintracht Frankfurt, a 2–2 draw in which he made five saves. Philipp made six Bundesliga appearances that season, including a six-save display in a 1–1 draw with VfB Stuttgart, and remains linked with 1899 Hoffenheim.
