Lars Lukas Mai
Lars Lukas Mai is a German centre-back who was born in Dresden on 31 March 2000. He began his football education at Dynamo Dresden before joining Bayern München’s youth system in 2014. Mai progressed quickly, captaining Bayern’s under-19 side and helping the under-17 team win the German B-Junior Championship in 2017. On 21 April 2018, he made his Bundesliga debut for Bayern München in a 3–0 victory over Hannover 96, becoming the first player born in 2000 to appear for the club in the competition. He moved to SV Darmstadt 98 on loan for the 2020–21 season, making 29 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga. Mai then joined Werder Bremen for 2021–22 and contributed during their promotion campaign. In 2022, he moved permanently to FC Lugano, where he continues to develop as a physically strong defender.
