Lukas Kübler

Lukas Kübler is a German centre-back, born in Bonn on 30 August 1992. He developed in the Rhineland with VfR Hangelar, 1. FC Köln, Sportfreunde Troisdorf and Bonner SC, where he made his senior debut in the Regionalliga West during the 2009–10 season. Kübler returned to 1. FC Köln in 2011 and played for the reserve side before making one first-team appearance against Hertha BSC in the 2. Bundesliga in 2013. He then joined SV Sandhausen, gradually establishing himself in the second tier and featuring regularly during the 2014–15 campaign. In July 2015, Kübler moved to SC Freiburg on a free transfer. Injuries disrupted his early Freiburg years, but he later became a dependable defensive option and helped the club reach the 2022 DFB-Pokal final. Kübler’s versatility, aerial ability and recovery work have supported Freiburg in domestic and European competition.
