Lucas Gourna-Douath

Lucas Gourna-Douath is a French midfielder, born in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges on 5 August 2003. He developed with AS Lieusaint, US Sénart-Moissy and US Torcy before joining Saint-Étienne’s academy in 2018. Gourna-Douath signed his first professional contract with Saint-Étienne in 2020 and made his senior debut that September in a Ligue 1 victory over Strasbourg. He went on to establish himself in the Saint-Étienne side before moving to Red Bull Salzburg in July 2022. In Austria, he helped Salzburg win the 2022–23 Bundesliga title, while his defensive work and distribution suited a holding-midfield role. He has also deputised at centre-back, adding positional versatility to his ball-winning and long passing. At international level, Gourna-Douath has represented France from under-16 to under-21 level and captained the under-17 and under-19 teams; he is currently listed with Hull City.
