Lewis Ferguson

Lewis Ferguson is a Scottish midfielder born in Hamilton on 24 August 1999. He developed in the youth systems of Rangers and Hamilton Academical before making his senior debut for Hamilton in January 2018. Later that year, Ferguson moved to Aberdeen, where he established himself as a regular and became the club’s leading scorer in 2020–21. His performances, set-piece threat and energetic midfield play earned a move to Bologna in July 2022. At Bologna, Ferguson operated as a central or attacking midfielder, combining forward runs and late arrivals in the box with pressing and defensive work. He helped the club finish fifth in Serie A in 2023–24 and qualify for the Champions League, before returning from a cruciate-ligament injury that ruled him out of Euro 2024. Ferguson captained Bologna to the 2025 Coppa Italia, secured with a 1–0 win over AC Milan, and has also represented Scotland at senior level.
