Lukas Ahlefeld Engel

Lukas Ahlefeld Engel is a Danish left-back who can also operate as a wing-back. Born in Amager in 1998, he began at Kastrup Boldklub, developing as a winger before progressing into a deeper role. Engel moved to Fremad Amager, where he made more than 100 appearances, captained the side in 2020 and earned Denmark Under-21 recognition. He joined Vejle Boldklub and made his Danish Superliga debut in February 2021. After moving to Silkeborg, initially on loan and later permanently, Engel established himself as an attacking full-back in domestic and European competition. In August 2023, he transferred to Middlesbrough, adapting to Championship football and becoming a regular during the 2023–24 campaign. Following a loan with FC Cincinnati in 2025, Engel joined Real Salt Lake, bringing pace, stamina and crossing ability to the left side.
