Lucas da Cunha

Lucas da Cunha is a French attacking midfielder born in Roanne on 9 June 2001. He developed with Roanne Matel SFC and Roanne Foot 42 before joining Rennes’ academy at 15. At Rennes, da Cunha signed a professional contract in December 2017 and scored a hat-trick in the 2018–19 Championnat National U19 final. He made his senior debut against Lazio in the Europa League in December 2019. In 2020, he moved to Nice and spent time on loan with Lausanne, where he recorded six goals and one assist in 28 appearances, and Clermont Foot, for whom he scored twice in 11 games. Como signed him in January 2023, giving his career a new platform. Initially used as a winger or No. 10, da Cunha has also developed into a deeper central midfielder, contributing through passing, ball retention and creative distribution.
