Liam Scott Chipperfield

Liam Scott Chipperfield is a Swiss midfielder who developed in the FC Basel 1893 academy after joining as a child. At under-18 level, he scored 10 goals in 25 matches during the 2020–21 season, earning integration into Basel’s first team. Chipperfield made his senior debut in the Swiss Cup in September 2021 and later scored his first senior goal for Basel in March 2022. After eight senior appearances for Basel, he transferred to FC Sion on 17 July 2023. He helped Sion win the 2023–24 Challenge League title and regain promotion to the Swiss top flight. At Sion, Chipperfield has featured as a central or attacking midfielder, with his chance creation and progressive distribution supporting the team’s build-up. He has represented Switzerland from under-17 through under-21 level and remains part of the Switzerland U21 setup.
