Leonardo Jesus Loureiro Bittencourt

Leonardo Jesus Loureiro Bittencourt is a German midfielder born in Leipzig on 19 December 1993. He developed at Energie Cottbus, joining the club’s youth system in 1999, and made his professional debut in the 2. Bundesliga in 2011. In July 2012, Bittencourt moved to Borussia Dortmund, where he entered a senior squad that reached the 2013 UEFA Champions League final. Seeking regular first-team football, he joined Hannover 96 in 2013 and then spent 2015–18 with 1. FC Köln, whose team qualified for European football before relegation. He continued his Bundesliga career at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in 2018 and moved to Werder Bremen in 2019, initially on loan before a permanent transfer the following year.
