Loris Benito Souto

Loris Benito Souto is a Swiss centre-back, born in Aarau, whose left foot has supported a career across Switzerland, Portugal and France. He developed at FC Aarau before making his senior breakthrough there, then moved to FC Zürich, where he helped win the Swiss Cup in 2014. Benfica signed Benito in 2014, and although his opportunities in Lisbon were limited, he was part of squads that won the Portuguese league and League Cup in 2014–15. He returned to Switzerland with BSC Young Boys in 2015, where injuries disrupted his progress before he rebuilt his career. In 2019, Benito joined Bordeaux and gained experience in Ligue 1, later returning to Switzerland with FC Sion in 2022. He subsequently rejoined Young Boys, bringing experience as both a left-back and centre-back to the Bern club. Benito also represented Switzerland and was included in the squad for Euro 2020.
