Kepa Arrizabalaga Revuelta

Kepa Arrizabalaga Revuelta is a Spanish goalkeeper born on 3 October 1994 in Ondárroa, and he developed at Athletic Club’s Lezama academy after joining it in 2004. He progressed through the club’s youth levels before making his senior debut for Basconia in 2012. Loans to Ponferradina in 2015 and Real Valladolid from 2015 to 2016 gave Kepa experience in Spain’s Segunda División before he returned to Athletic Club. In August 2018, Chelsea signed him for €80 million, a release clause that made him the world’s most expensive goalkeeper. During his Chelsea career, Kepa won the 2018–19 Europa League and 2020–21 Champions League, while his refusal to leave the field during the 2019 EFL Cup final became a major talking point. After losing his starting place to Edouard Mendy, he moved to Real Madrid on loan for 2023–24, helping cover for Thibaut Courtois and collecting La Liga and Champions League honours. He then joined Bournemouth for 2024–25 before becoming a permanent Arsenal player and a rotation option in the squad.
