Kelvin Spencer Pires

Kelvin Spencer Pires is a Cape Verdean defender born in Mindelo on 5 June 2000. He developed at Batuque FC before moving to AS Trenčín in July 2020 and entering professional European football. Pires made his senior debut for Trenčín against Spartak Trnava on 6 March 2021. By the 2022–23 season, he had become a regular starter, recording 30 appearances and five goals for the Slovak club. In February 2024, he joined Finnish side SJK on loan, then completed a permanent move in November that year. Standing 1.93 metres tall, Pires has operated mainly as a centre-back, contributing in aerial duels and set-piece situations while supporting build-up play. He also made his Cape Verde senior debut in a World Cup qualifier against Nigeria on 4 September 2021, linking his club progression with international football.
