Kyle Joseph Smith

Kyle Joseph Smith is an American defender from Cincinnati, born January 9, 1992. He developed at La Salle High School before playing college soccer at Division III Transylvania University, where he initially featured as a forward and attacking midfielder. After graduating with an accounting degree in 2014, Smith worked as an accountant while playing for the Cincinnati Dutch Lions in the Premier Development League. His performances led to a 2016 trial with Louisville City FC, where he converted into a right-back and helped the club win consecutive USL Cup titles in 2017 and 2018. Smith moved to Orlando City SC in late 2018 and became a versatile defender capable of covering both full-back positions and center-back. He contributed to Orlando’s 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup triumph and remained with the club through the 2025 season. Smith subsequently joined hometown side FC Cincinnati, adding experienced defensive cover and positional flexibility.
