Kevin Rüegg
Kevin Rüegg is a Swiss midfielder from Uster who developed in FC Zürich’s academy and made his professional debut for the club in 2017. He became an important first-team player and helped FC Zürich win the Swiss Cup in 2018, while operating across right-back, right midfield and defensive midfield. In August 2020, Rüegg moved to Hellas Verona, beginning a period in Serie A in which regular playing time proved difficult to secure. He returned to Switzerland with FC Lugano in 2022 and won another Swiss Cup during that spell. Rüegg then joined BSC Young Boys, contributing to a domestic league-and-cup double in 2022–23. After his time abroad and in Switzerland, he moved to FC Basel, where he is listed as a midfielder and has continued to feature in a more defensive wide role. Kevin Rüegg’s career reflects positional versatility, defensive commitment and experience across Swiss and Italian football.
