Karol Mets

Karol Mets is an Estonian centre-back born in Viljandi on 16 May 1993. He developed with JK Viljandi Tulevik before moving to Flora Tallinn in 2010, where he made his senior debut in 2011 and helped the club win the Estonian league that season. In 2015, Mets moved abroad to Viking FK in Norway, beginning a sequence of spells in different European football environments. He later played for NAC Breda, AIK Stockholm, Al-Ettifaq, CSKA Sofia and FC Zürich. With Zürich, he won the Swiss Super League in 2021–22. Mets then joined FC St. Pauli, initially on loan, and contributed to their promotion to Germany’s Bundesliga for 2024–25. Primarily a central defender, he has also operated in defensive midfield and is currently registered with VfL Bochum.
