Karen Melkonyan

Karen Melkonyan is an Armenian forward who came through the FC Urartu academy in Yerevan. Between 2017 and 2019, he played for Urartu-2, scoring 10 goals in 27 appearances before establishing himself with the senior side. Melkonyan made his senior debut against Alashkert on 4 March 2017 and has remained associated with Urartu throughout his professional career. Primarily deployed as a right winger, he has also operated in advanced central roles and as an inverted wing-back. On 13 May 2023, Melkonyan scored the winning goal in the Armenian Cup final, helping Urartu secure the trophy. He made his senior Armenia debut in a 1–1 draw with Croatia on 1 June 2021, after representing the country at under-19 and under-21 level. In 2024/25, he recorded 10 goals and one assist in 33 league matches, and he remains with FC Urartu.
