Kian Leavy

Kian Leavy is an Irish midfielder who developed through Drogheda Town, Shelbourne, St Kevin’s Boys and the St Patrick’s Athletic academy. In July 2018, he moved to Reading, where five seasons in the club’s academy saw him develop from an attacking No. 10 with the under-18s into a more versatile midfielder with the under-23s. Leavy made his senior debut for Reading in an EFL Cup tie against Swansea City in August 2021 and was also included in Championship matchday squads. He returned to Ireland on loan with Shelbourne in early 2023, scoring the winner against Bohemians. After leaving Reading that summer, Leavy joined St Patrick’s Athletic permanently and helped the club win the 2023 FAI Cup. At St Patrick’s, he has been used centrally or on either wing, with his dribbling and ball progression central to his creative game.
