Konrad Laimer

Konrad Laimer is an Austrian midfielder born in Salzburg on 27 May 1997. He joined Red Bull Salzburg’s academy at 10, made his professional debut for feeder club FC Liefering in May 2014, and soon appeared for Salzburg’s senior side. With Salzburg, Laimer won three consecutive domestic doubles from 2015 to 2017 and was named Austrian Bundesliga Player of the Season in 2016–17. He moved to RB Leipzig in summer 2017, where his central-midfield role expanded to include wing-back and holding positions. Laimer featured in every match of Leipzig’s 2019–20 Champions League semi-final run and helped the club win the DFB-Pokal in 2022 and 2023. After six years and 190 competitive appearances for Leipzig, he joined Bayern München on a free transfer in 2023. At Bayern, Laimer remains a versatile midfielder who has also covered both full-back positions, while representing Austria.
