Karl-Johan Anton Johnsson

Karl-Johan Anton Johnsson is a Swedish goalkeeper born in Ränneslöv on 28 January 1990. He began at Ränneslövs GIF before joining Halmstads BK as a teenager, making his senior debut in 2008 and becoming the club’s first-choice goalkeeper during the 2011 season. Johnsson received his first Sweden call-up in January 2012 and was later part of the nation’s squads for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2020. He moved to NEC Nijmegen in January 2013, then joined Randers FC in 2014 and was named the Danish Superliga’s best goalkeeper in 2015. That recognition led to a transfer to Guingamp in 2016, where he played in the 2018–19 Coupe de la Ligue quarter-final victory over Paris Saint-Germain. In 2019, Johnsson signed for FC Copenhagen, winning two Superliga titles and a DBU Pokalen. He later continued his career with Bordeaux and Strasbourg, adding experience across several European leagues.
