Kristian Joensen
Kristian Joensen is a Faroese goalkeeper born in Runavík on 21 December 1992. He developed in the youth system of NSÍ Runavík and began his senior career with the club, appearing in European qualifying during the 2012/13 Europa League campaign. From 2018 to 2021, Joensen played for KÍ Klaksvík, gaining further experience in Champions League and Europa League qualifying. He then represented EB/Streymur from 2021 to 2022, including a loan spell and a subsequent permanent move. In January 2023, he returned to NSÍ Runavík, continuing to guard the club’s goal in the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Joensen also represented the Faroe Islands at under-21 level, earning five caps, before making his senior debut against Latvia on 7 October 2016. At 1.90 metres, he brings considerable experience to Faroese football.
